Women Endwoing Education (W.E.E.), is a sub-group of the Blue Springs Education Foundation. The concept of this group is to bring together a number of influential women in the area who, by donating a small amount individually, can make a significnt impact on education together. According to the Greater Kansas City Community foundation, W.E.E. is the first education foundation giving cirlce to their knowledge.
By joining W.E.E., a woman can be as involved as she would like. It could be as simple as attending our social hour and enjoying new friendships, or you may become more involved by serving on a committee or planning one of the social events.
W.E.E. members combine their annual donation of $300 to fund a worthy project in the Blue Springs School District. In the process members learn more about the Blue Springs Schools and help sustain the district through a collective high-impact gift.
The W.E.E. group is a part of the Bue Springs Education Foundation. All funds are invested with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. All donations to W.E.E. and/or the Blue Springs Education Foundation are tax-deductible and can be paid by check or credit card.
We are excited about potential for this group of area women. With the major cuts in local, state, and federal education funding, it is the perfect time for us to become involved in keeping education strong.
Women Endowing Education made its first grant of $25,000 in 2011 for the W.E.E. Learning Bus. This high tech modified 76 passenger bus will take technology to neighborhoods within the Blue Springs School District for students to lhave help on homework, research, ACT preparation, etc. Families will also be served and have opportunities to make stronger connections with the district. W.E.E. committees are developing the design, curriculum, route, and sponsorships in order to have the bus ready in the fall of 2012.
